The focus of worship and music arts is to bring the people closer to God by bringing them into active worship. This ministry includes all aspects of worship: Word, music, altar guild, service assistants, and sanctuary beautification. In addition, there is are worship teams that attend to the details of the services.

Our 9:15am Worship Service follows the traditional Lutheran Worship, utilizing the Evangelical Lutheran Worship Hymnal and several other worship books to enhance the opportunities through worship and music. Musical leadership for this service is provided by the Chancel Choir with accompaniment on both organ and piano. Additional instrumentalists, such as flute and violin, are also incorporated into the services. Our Handbell Choir presents both musical offerings and hymn accompaniment.

Our 10:45am Worship Service is a modern take on worship integrated with praise songs, hymns and choruses. Musical leadership for this service is provided by the Praise Band, Shine! Youth Choir and the Celebration Singers with primarily guitar and piano accompaniments.

Special Services and Music Events for last year included: Wednesday Night Dinners and Bible Studies; Worship Services and music for the 2009 Annual Meeting; Ash Wednesday Distribution of Ashes Service; Friday Morning Lenten Communion and Scripture Reflections; Wednesday Lenten Dinners and Worship Services; Maundy Thursday Worship Service (focus on The Last Supper); Good Friday Worship Service (readings and hymns); Mother’s Day flowers and Father’s Day chocolate hugs; special music for July 4th, Veterans Day and Memorial Day; special visit from Bishop Julian Gordy; highlighted two Teens Encounter Christ Weekends; highlighted Atlanta Lutheran Via de Cristo Weekends; All Saints Day Remembrance Service and Remembrance Book; All Saints Day Songs of Prayer and Healing; Thanksgiving Eve Potluck Dinner and Service; Wednesday Advent Dinners and Services; Silent Night Christmas Program (was written and arranged by Ed Pucko); and Special Christmas Eve Services (5:00pm Family Worship Service with the message given by Santa, 7:00pm Modern Candlelight Service, 9:00pm Traditional Candlelight Service).

The Chancel Choir sings at the 9:15am Worship Service. The Celebration Singers sing at the 10:45am Worship Service. The Handbell Choir performs for selected occasions. We are blessed to experience each of our musical groups both individually and collaboratively throughout the year.

Our Children's Choir now has over 30 children! They sing during the second Worship Service several times a year. In 2009, we teamed up with the Shine! Youth Choir to sing at the Macy's Shop For A Cause event and took part in the Christmas program. In 2010, we plan to continue reaching out to the community by singing at a nearby assisted living facility.

Worship and Music Ministry continues its focus on bringing people closer to God through a variety of opportunities while remaining Christ-centered and faith-filled.
