The Stewardship Ministry plans, educates and nurtures the spirituality of Christian giving in order to ensure adequate provision of time, talent and treasure to support the vision of Prince of Peace and the ELCA.

Our focus during 2010 is on the Three Year Building Together in Faith Capital Stewardship Campaign for our new building. A total of $676,000 has been pledged. As of the end of 2009, we are half way through our campaign and we have received $386,700 in contributions, including contributions from some who have not pledged. Campaign pledges yet to be received total $333,700. Thank you all who have pledged and contributed to this project and still continued to contribute to our General Fund.

Another focus for 2010 is to increase participation in the Simply Giving Program. Simply Giving is an automated giving program designed to help you conveniently and consistently contribute to Prince of Peace. Through Simply Giving, your gifts are made through a pre-authorized withdrawal from your bank account. You determine the frequency of your automatic gift—weekly, semi-monthly or monthly—the option is yours. Your gift is deposited into POP’s bank account on the same day it is withdrawn from your account—at no cost to you.  Thrivent Financial for Lutherans offers Simply Giving to further its mission of serving Lutheran congregations and institutions. Simply Giving is a reliable, safe way to move our stewardship plan into action. It allows you to share your gifts through planned giving and activates your generosity into ongoing stewardship. Because your gift is given consistently, you won't need to play "catch-up" at year-end or worry about forgotten checkbooks or missed Sunday offerings. Our congregation benefits from steady, more predictable revenues throughout the year, more efficient bookkeeping and greater confidence in meeting our financial commitments.

Simply Giving is an automated giving program designed to help you conveniently contribute financially to the church. Simply Giving is a reliable, safe way to move your stewardship plan into action by having a specific amount withdrawn from your bank account weekly, monthly or semi-monthly for the church’s general fund, the capital stewardship campaign or any other designation. After filling out your Simply Giving form, please put the completed form in an envelope with Bob Soby’s name on it and place the envelope in collection plate.  Simply Giving forms are available in the Narthex.

Instructions for Simply Giving Enrollment and Authorization Form

1.      Please complete all parts of the section entitled ALL ENROLLMENTS

2.      In the section titled CONGREGATION DONATIONS:

a.      Congregation name is Prince of Peace

b.      City is Alpharetta

c.      Street address is 10250 Haynes Bridge Road

d.      State is GA; zip code 30022

e.      Under “Church Fund Designations” indicate the amount you would like to contribute to each fund listed.  You may list others.  Note this is the amount per donation.  For example, if you want to contribute $200 per month on the 1^st and 15^th of the month, then you would show $100 under “Amount of Donation.”

f.      Frequency of Donation – select your preference and note the start date.

3.      Leave blank the sections marked SCHOOL TUITION PAYMENTS AND INSTITUTION DONATIONS
