Evangelism
Evangelism describes the combined efforts of our church members to reach out and beyond the walls of the church. We are often intimidated by the idea of doing so and tend to think of "Bible Thumpers" and aggressive Christians. Yet, each of us will tell stories of gentle people who have influenced us for Christ. The church wants these gentle people who will help others to find peace and hope in Christ.
Reaching out happens in the work place, at school and in the community. It also happens within the church. On most Sundays, we have visitors and guests attending our church. They come because they are searching for authentic Christianity. They may have a crisis in their lives. They may have suffered a loss. Their presence here with us gives an opportunity for us to be Christ to them. We have a few folks who are good at this mission, but we still need more. Will you consider being one of these people? It is required that we be intentional with it. It is also important that we be an organized team.
To join in this effort means that you will have to make a sacrifice. When we consider the kind of sacrifice that Jesus made for us, this looks relatively easy. It will mean that you will put our visitors and guests ahead of your friends during the first few minutes following Worship Services.
Remember the words of Jesus, "for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me." (Matthew 25:35) Will you help us be Christ for someone? If so, please contact:
